The Russian Sleep Experiment
Have you ever wondered what effect a person would have on his body if he did not sleep at all and how long he could live without complete sleep? Sleep is just as important to the human body as food and drink. Scientists have done many experiments on humans and animals to understand human sleep, but the one I am going to tell you about today is one of the most terrifying.
The experience I'm going to tell you about is called the Russian Sleep Experiment. No one can say for sure when the experiment came to light, but experts say the results of the experiment were first posted on a website called Creppy Pasta. On this website, people usually post true horrible incidents that happened to them. The results of the experiment were posted on this website on August 10, 2010. The person who posted it revealed his name as Orange Soda which is why no one knows the real name of this person.
The experiment was performed on five prisoners in Russia in 1940. The prisoners were captured by Russian forces during World War II. The purpose of the experiment was to find out how long a person can live without sleep. To ensure the success of the experiment, the prisoners were falsely promised that if they were released without sleeping for 30 days, they would be released. All the prisoners were transferred to a chamber-like room containing food and drink. Some books were also kept there for reading. Many facilities were provided to keep them alive. They were not allowed to sleep, but were given some animal skins to lie down and rest. These prisoners were kept under strict surveillance so that they would not fall asleep and to ensure this, people would guard them in different shifts at the window outside the room. An unidentified gas was also released into the chamber. Microphones were also attached to the bodies of these prisoners so that scientists could listen to them at all times and know what effect sleep had on their bodies.
In the beginning, everything seemed to be fine. For the first five days, the prisoners kept telling each other the events of their lives, gossiping and reading books. That is, everything was normal in the beginning. But this normalcy disappeared in a few days. As time went on, strange changes took place in these prisoners. Anxiety, anxiety and anger grew among them. They stopped talking to each other and started whispering to themselves. On the ninth day, one of the prisoners suddenly lost his temper and started screaming loudly and kept shouting loudly for three hours. Screaming so loudly, her vocal cords exploded and her mouth began to bleed. But the strange thing was that this strange condition of his companion had no effect on the other four prisoners. He kept whispering to himself as before. After a while, another prisoner started screaming like this and started tearing the books in anger and sticking the turned pages of the books on the window with the help of which he was watched from outside. After that, the voices stopped coming from inside. After a while, screams started coming from inside again. In this way, sometimes the screaming sounds would stop coming from inside and sometimes they would start again. During this time three days passed. For the next three days, there was no sound from inside. Since the scientists could not see them from outside and there was no sound coming from inside, the scientists thought that these people were dead. So the scientists decided to open the chamber and see what happened to these prisoners.
Before opening the chamber, an announcement was made on the speaker in the chamber that if any prisoner was standing at the door of the chamber, he should step back and lie down on the ground. If anyone tried to attack, they would be shot. After this announcement, it was decided to open the door of the chamber.
After opening the door, Russian scientists were shocked to see the inside.
There was bloodshed everywhere. The prisoners began to eat each other like cannibals. Flesh was torn from various parts of his body and bones were visible. His brain had stopped working. He had lost consciousness. But none of them died. One of the prisoners said, "We don't want to leave. Leave us alone. We'll stay." It was decided to take the prisoners to the hospital but they kept shouting that they did not have any gold and no attempt was made to wake them up. At the hospital, the prisoners kept screaming and three of them died in the hospital. The other two children were bandaged and released back into the chamber. This experiment did not end. This time the amount of gas in the chamber was also increased. Three of the team of Russian scientists decided to stay for a while and try to find out about them. One of the scientists asked a prisoner who you were and why you were so eager to get in. So notet,he prisoner said, "I am you, the devil inside you." There is cruelty inside you
